Phyllis Ann Bentz, age 97, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024. She was born July 9, 1927 in Fort Wayne to the late Benjamin Franklin and Marie Sophie (née Peppler) Campbell. Phyllis attended Harrison Hill Elementary and later graduated from South Side High School in 1945. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for Lincoln Life Insurance (over ten years) and later for Bentz Metals.
Phyllis had many hobbies and interests including reading, knitting, floral gardening, and was actively involved at Saint Matthew's Lutheran Church. She was a faithful believer in the Lord and cared deeply for others. Phyllis enjoyed spending time with family members including three generations of nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her sister, Linda (Hugh) McSweyn of Alexandria, Virginia; sister-in-law, Carolyn Campbell of Fort Wayne; nieces, Dr. Karen (Chris) Smith also of Alexandria and Kimberly (James) Martin, of Fishers, Indiana; great-nephew, Aiden McSweyn of Hope, Maine; great-nieces, Brooke (William) Langley of Indianapolis, Indiana and Alyssa (Jacob) Crepinsek of Noblesville, Indiana; and great great-nieces, Margret, Aoife and Ila Langley.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Bentz; brother, William Campbell; and nephew, Brent McSweyn.
Funeral Service is 12:00 pm, Friday, January 10, 2025 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Maplewood Park, 4017 Maplecrest Rd, Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Interment at Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
