Phyllis M Jones Steinman

Phyllis M. Steinman, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home with her loving family by her side. Phyllis went peacefully after a long and difficult journey fighting her cancer. Born in Chicago, Illinois, she was the first of eight children born to the late Marshall and Maybelle Jones. She was a lifelong homemaker. She was a dedicated Christian and loved going to church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed flowers and her little hummingbirds. She will be missed by husband of 65 years, LeRoy Steinman, Sr.; LeRoy was the love of her life, they were truly soul mates; son, LeRoy “Lee” (Sharon) Steinman, Jr. of Fort Wayne; daughter, Saundra “Sandy” (Steve) Allmandinger of Hoagland, IN; sisters Carol (Julian) Fugere and Ardell (Al) Kolkman; brothers, Myron (Betty) Jones, David Jones, Daniel Jones and Paul (Marsha) Jones; five grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Phyllis was also preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Jones. Service is 1:00 PM Friday, April 13, 2012 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809, with calling one hour prior. The Richard Dickson officiating. Calling also is from 4 to 8 PM Thursday, April 12, 2012. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Elmhurst Church of the Nazarene.
