Richard Alfred Beesley, 81, passed away at Adams Heritage Nursing Home on Friday, November 20, 2020 in Monroeville, IN. He was born to the late Thomas and Ellen (Ultstrup) Beesley on August 31, 1939. Richard graduated from University of Nebraska with his Master's in Mechanical Engineering and was a long-time resident of Hoagland, Indiana. He was a Mechanical Engineer at International Harvester for 33 years, retiring in the late 1990's. Richard was a member of the UAW and the Society of Automotive Engineers. He enjoyed to cook, bake and watch birds. He loved his dog Cayenne. Above all else he was a devoted father. Surviving are his children, Thomas Beesley, Peter (Stephanie) Beesley, and Erik (Anastasia) Beesley; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Richard was also preceded in death by his son, Andrew Beesley; and sister, Joyce Ellen Beesley. Memorial service 1:00pm Saturday, December 19, 2020 at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home with memorial visitation from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to National Public Radio or Allen County SPCA.
