Richard E. “Dick” Gordon, 88, of Fort Wayne passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021. He was born on December 9, 1932 in Fort Wayne, a son of the late James and Madeline (Wynkoop) Gordon. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked at Rogers Markets for 40 years before retiring in 1995. During his retirement, he drove for the Noble County Council on Aging. He was a member at the South Milford United Methodist Church and the Lions Club. In his free time, he enjoyed the lake life, fishing, and golfing. Surviving family include his daughter, Jean (Gregg) Nix of Fort Wayne; granddaughter, Stacey (Fred) Maler of Connecticut; great-grandsons, Austin and Nathan Maler; daughter, Janet (Tim) Sunderland; grandchildren, Ian Cook of New Haven, Heather Shanks of Bluffton, Indiana, and Kevin (Rebecca) Sunderland of Fort Wayne; great-grandchildren, Layla and Izayah Cook, Madeline, Ashlyne, and Gracelynne Shanks, and Julianna and Zoe Sunderland; and siblings, Virginia Hill and Thomas and Donald Gordon. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 69 years, Eva (Johnson) Gordon who passed in November of 2020; and brother, James Gordon. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. The service will be a celebration of both Eva and Richard’s lives. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to South Milford United Methodist Church or Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
