Richard Edwin Sutorius passed away at home on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the age of 66 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born on May 10, 1959, in Fort Wayne, Rich was a loving husband to Amy (Lipp), wife of 42 years, and a devoted father to his two daughters, Samantha and Jessica.
Rich was a graduate of Elmhurst High School, class of 1977. He got his Bachelor of Science in Business from Indiana University in 1981. He was employed by Hagerman Construction for nearly 43 years and later also, worked for NB Knapke Company, Inc.
He loved to go camping, play cards/games with family and friends, read, sing in various choirs for his church, and cheer on his Indiana Hoosiers.
Rich is survived by his loving wife, Amy; daughters, Samantha Sutorius and Jessica Sutorius; sisters, Cindy Wagner, of Farmland, IN, Pam Wise, of Fishers, IN, and Gina Smith, of Fort Wayne, IN; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews, whom he all loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard ‘Dick’ Sutorius and Mother Ruth (Gutmann) Sutorius.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Services of NE, IN; Faith Lutheran Church, Roanoke, IN; and Stillwater Hospice.
A Funeral Service Celebrating Rich's life will be 11:00 AM on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the Faith Lutheran Church, 3416 East 900 North, Roanoke, IN 46783 with a visitation one hour prior to services. Visitation is also on Sunday, October 26, 2025, 1-5pm, at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Covington Knolls, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, (46804). Burial will follow in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery - Engle Road.
