

Robert graduated from Central High School and completed 2 years of college before leaving to join the U.S. Army. He served during the Korean War from 1951-1953. In 1951, Robert married his high school sweetheart, Jacqueline Mayers, and they were married for 61 years, before her passing March of 2012. After working as an office executive, he then went on to become the Supervisor of the Pro Shop at Key Lanes Bowling Alley for 6 years before retiring in 1995. He was a proud Past Commander of American Legion Post 47.
Robert is survived by his children, Steven E. (Becky) Jefferies of Glen Ellyn, Il, Denise L. (Michael) Bordner of Bluffton, IN, David A. (Victoria) Jefferies of Wolcottville, IN, Daniel M. (Shari) Jefferies of Fort Wayne, IN, Cheryl L. (Doug) Hawk of Germantown, MD, and Curtis D. (Pamela) Jefferies of Wawaka, IN; 16 grandchildren, and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald and Gene Jefferies; sister, Sharon Miller; grandson, Nathan Hawk; granddaughter, Patricia Lucia/Jefferies; and a great-grandson, Austin Baller.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne. Robert will be laid to rest in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
