Reverend Robert G. Johnston

Reverend Robert G. Johnston, 95, of Fort Wayne passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022. He was born on October 11, 1926 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a son of the late Earl and Martha Johnston. Having completed requirements in study from Northwestern College, Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, St Louis, and Mequon, The Reverend Robert Johnston rendered service to the Lord which took him all over the globe, beginning in New Hamburg, Ontario, and including “Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia.” He was a pastor, an instructor, a Headmaster, and Principal over the decades, until retirement in 1997 in Florida. Surviving family include his wife, Barbara Ann Marquart Johnston; brother, Gordon Johnston; sons, Rev. Paul (Lynn), Rev. Mark (Jane), Peter (Kay-Lynn), Thomas (Lynn); daughter, Kathleen Hansen

daughter-in-law, Judy Johnston; step-sons, Danny (Karen) Marquart, Barry (Monika) Marquart, Anthony (Rebecca) Marquart; step-daughters, Cynthia (Kerry Johnson) and Angela (Rev. John) Hill; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in passing by his wife, Esther Caroline (Bluemner), wife, Cecilia Acker (Pizon); sisters, Ruth Theirfelder, Florence Weber, and Muriel Olsen; and son, Timothy. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2022 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 11228 Coldwater Road, Fort Wayne with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
