Robert A. Norris

Robert A. Norris, 85, of Fort Wayne, passed away Monday April 8, 2013 at his home. He was born on January 31, 1928 to the late Robert Norris and Esther Norris Miller. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of American Legion Post 241, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Kiawanis Club, and Humane Society. He worked at General Foods, Parker Hydraulics, and Avis Rentals. Surviving family include his wife of 62 years, Marian D. Norris; children, Kathy (Mike) Hoersting, Robert (Cindy) Norris, John (Sara Houser) Norris; grandchildren, Sarra Yoder, Anna Norris, Sandra Valentic; one great grandson, Kevin Valentic; many loving nieces and nephews; and family friend, George Hill. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by two sisters, Margaret Ross and Mary Brandenbury. A funeral service will be 10:00 am on Thursday April, 11, 2013 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne with visitation half an hour prior. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Wednesday April, 10, 2013 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Allen County Humane Society. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery.
