Ronald L. Gilbert

Ronald L. Gilbert, age 69, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Mr. Gilbert was born on June 26, 1949, in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Lawrence and Hildred (Hanes) Gilbert. He graduated from North Side High School in Fort Wayne. Ron served his country honorably with the United States Navy as a corpsman. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Indiana Purdue University Fort Wayne. On April 25, 1981, he married Dr. Amy Lynn Towsley at Messiah Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne. Ron was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and completing furniture kits. His favorite moments were spending time with his family and grandchildren. Survivors include his spouse, Dr. Amy Lynn Gilbert, children; David (Stacy) Gilbert, John (Bethany) Gilbert, Dr. Andrew (Darcy) Gilbert, and Ashley (Colin) Guntle, grandchildren: Logan, Mason, Simon, Camryn, Jorja, and Harrison Gilbert, Isaac and Cooper Guntle, brother: Cal Gilbert, nephews: Jeff and Denny Gilbert. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, and sister-in-law, Betty Gilbert. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 3-7pm at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home Pine Valley Park, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46825. Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 1pm at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home Pine Valley Park. Burial will take place on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 1pm at Marion National Cemetery.
