

Ronald “Ron” J. VanLue, 69, of Fort Wayne, died October 10, 2013, at his home after a courageous battle with ALS. Born June 28, 1944, he was a son of the late Leonard and Mildred VanLue. A longtime member of Trinity English Lutheran Church, he was a member of Bible Study Fellowship, and taught confirmation classes. He retired in 2003 from FWCS after 37 years of service as an elementary teacher. He loved to read and share the classics like Tom Sawyer; he enjoyed the outdoors, especially Colorado and Turkey Run State Park, and enjoyed playing euchre with his friends.
He is survived by his wife Julie VanLue; children, Aaron (Paula) VanLue, Ryan (Mandy) VanLue, Sarah (Curt) Taylor; grandchildren, Jacob, Ben, Cooper, Samantha, Claire, Brendan, Hayden and Pete; brother, Leonard “Van” (Phyllis) VanLue; sister Karen Wallace. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Jean Boggess.
Memorial Service will be 11 AM Tuesday October 15, at Trinity English Lutheran Church, with calling one hour prior to service. Calling will also be held from 1:00 to 4:00 & 6:30 to 8:30 PM Monday October 14, at Klaehn Fahl & Melton Funeral Homes, Wayne Street Chapel, 420 West Wayne Street, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to Trinity English Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne, or ALS Services.
