Rose Loraine Hunter

Rose Loraine Hunter, 78, of Fort Wayne, was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She passed away peacefully Friday, April 16, 2021. She was born on April 19, 1942, she was a daughter of William and Bessie (Sloop) Rush. She graduated from Logansport High School in in 1960. Loraine enjoyed spending time with family, reading, traveling and was an avid sports fan. She also had a deep love for her pets, especially her “kitties.” Her favorite pastime was spending time with family and friends. She and her husband Roger had a nutrition business where they developed great friendships and lifelong relationships with people all over the world. Loraine sincerely enjoyed that time with Roger and their friends. Loraine was involved in a ‘Breakfast Club’ where she enjoyed much laughter and happy memories. Loraine is survived by her twin sister, Loretta (Rush) Buckles; her daughter, Sharon Rose; her son, David (Lynn) Rose; her stepchildren, Dawn (Bob) Serr, Gary Hunter, Greg (Toni) Hunter, Lisa (Kurt) Walborn. Loraine had 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She also had 9 nieces and 5 nephews. Loraine was blessed with a large and loving family and many friends. She is preceded in death by her father, William Rush; her mother, Bessie (Sloop) Rush; her husband, Roger Hunter; her daughter, Karen (Rose) Beatty; her brothers, Maurice Rush and Jack Rush; and a sister, Marjorie (Rush) Meyer. A private service for family and close friends, whose lives were touched by Loraine, will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46804. She will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The service will also be streamed via https://www.facebook.com/GreenlawnFtWayne for those who are not able to attend in person. As we celebrate Loraine’s life, we do so with many pleasant memories. She will always be remembered by her mantra “I have places to go, people to see, and things to do.” She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. Loraine had great respect and appreciation for our nation’s men and women in uniform.
