Sally L. (Schummer) Pierce, 87, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Ashton Creek Health and Rehabilitation in Fort Wayne. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Sally worked at Fort Wayne State Developmental Center for 27 years as an executive secretary. She was very kind hearted and gracious and was passionate about reading. Above all she was a devoted wife and mother and loved spending time with her family. Surviving are her children, Kelley (Donald) Byrd, Becky (Gordon) Murphy, Frederick “Tom” (Susan) Pierce, and Jennifer (Scott) Brubaker; grandchildren, Gordon (Candace) Murphy, Bradley (Brooke) Murphy, Steve Sanders, Kevin Sanders, Pierce Brubaker, and Ethan Brubaker; great-grandchildren, Lucas, Emily, and Ryan; and special cousins, Kathleen Dale, George (Alice) Mandley, and Christine (Joseph) Giannone. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Philip Geney; second husband, Frederick T. Pierce; and parents Joseph and Lillian (Hanson) Schummer. Memorial visitation will be Friday, November 16, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home Pine Valley 1320 E Dupont Road.
