Sandra Marie Kelty

Sandra Marie Kelty, 62, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022, at her home in Huntertown, Indiana. She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Elizabeth Haffner. Sandy graduated from Carroll High School in 1978. She also graduated from Parkview Nursing and earned her Bachelor’s in Nursing from Purdue University and her Master’s in Nursing from Ball State. Sandy taught nursing at St. Joe Hospital at their School of Nursing before moving to Parkview to become Patient Care Manager on 7W. She was also the Corporate Nurse at Northwest Allen County Schools. Sandy loved her family, summers at Lake Gage in Angola, IN, trips to Hilton Head Island, and enjoyed working on various house and remodel projects. Her greatest joy came from her children and family. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Richard Kelty of Huntertown, IN; children, Stephanie (Brandon) Wiley of Fort Wayne, IN, Nathan Kelty of Royal Oak, MI, Adam Kelty of Fort Wayne, IN; granddaughter, Addison Wiley; brothers, Thomas (Susan) Haffner of Charlotte, NC, Terry Haffner, Timothy (Diane) Haffner, Steve (Janelle) Haffner, all of Fort Wayne, IN; brother-in-law, Scott McAlister of Fort Wayne, IN. Sandy was preceded in death by a son, Neil Kelty; and a sister, Cindy McAlister. A memorial calling to honor Sandy's life will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2022, at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations in her honor may be directed to the Neil Kelty Memorial Fund through the Fort Wayne Community Foundation.
