Sandy Wright

Sandy Wright, 96, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on December 30, 2025, at the age of 96. She was born on April 29, 1929, in Crawfordsville, Indiana to the late George W. and Hatty C. (née Seiter) Kern. Sandy graduated from Crawfordsville High School and continued her education at Indiana University, Bloomington where she would meet her loving and devoted husband, Burt; the two were wed June 11, 1950.

Sandy was a homemaker until 1968, when she launched her real estate career until her retirement from ReMax Realty, Fort Wayne in 2010 at the age of 81. Her faith was central to her life, serving faithfully along side her husband at Blackhawk ministries in various capacities over the years, but especially loved mentoring many college students at Blackhawk, her warm smile welcoming guests in her role as greeter and serving as church receptionist but she cherished time spent with her family, nine grandchildren and infamous 'Midnight Christmas Eve Bingo' the most.

Sandy is survived by her children, Khris L. (Lisa) Wright, and Candis E. Allwein of Fort Wayne; daughter-in-law, Linda K. Wright; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Burton "Burt" E. Wright; son, Jeffrey B. Wright; siblings, Karl H. Kern, George J. Kern, Patrick Kern, Thomas Kern, Mary C. Horton, Cecelia E. Kern and Rose Marie Myers.

Service is 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Blackhawk Ministries, 7400 East State Blvd, Fort Wayne with calling two hours prior. Interment at Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne. Arrangements entrusted to D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Maplewood Park, 4017 Maplecrest Road.
