Mrs. Horner is survived by her husband of nearly 62 years, Donald E. Horner; son, Douglas E. Horner; daughter, Sheila R. (Cole) Truesdale; brother, Lee (Pauline) Edwards; 1 sister; 1 grandson; 3 step-grandchildren and 1 step-great-grandchild.
Shirley was born August 30, 1935 to Gerald and Ruth (Schott) Edwards in Monroe, IN. She graduated from Pleasant Mills High School in Pleasant Mills, IN.
She ended her working career after 17 years at ITT.
Her interests included family, gardening, and travel. She loved flowers, dogs and warm sunny days.
