Shirley Marie Slater, 92, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024. Shirley was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on December 8, 1931, a daughter of the late Peter and Ruth (Davis) Poinsette. She was a longtime member of Plymouth Congregational Church, D.A.R and the Allen County Genealogical Society. For several years, Shirley volunteered as head of the costume department of Plymouth's boar's head festival. She is survived by her sons, Scott and Stephen Slater; stepson, Fred Slater; grandsons, Vincent, Ayden and Quinton, as well as her step-grandson, Michael Swift; adopted Filipino grandsons, Isak, Lex and Liam Murayao; brother, Thomas Poinsette; and nieces, Kim and Michelle. Shirley's ashes will be interred alongside her beloved husband, Vincent at Plymouth Congregational Church.
