Steven L. "Steve" Baker, 60, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024. Steve was born on February 6, 1963 in Sidney, Ohio. He retired from the U.S. Army after 23 years of service as a First Sergeant. In his free time, he enjoyed going to the beach and traveling. Steve can be described as a true sports enthusiast. He loved football, watching hockey, golfing, bowling, and playing Pokemon Go. He helped coach Branden in wrestling and Danyelle in bowling and softball. He especially loved spending time with his family. Surviving family include his wife, Michelle Baker; children, Dustin Baker, Aric Baker, Branden Baker, and Danyelle Nice; many grandchildren; and brothers, Gary Shafer, Dennis Baker, Rick Baker, and Brian Barnes. He was preceded in passing by his father, Byron Baker; and mother, Constance "Connie" Barnes. A Celebration of Life Gathering for Steve will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. A prayer service will occur Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 3:00 pm. Military rites will occur Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 3:15 pm.
