Thomas Essex Sr.

Thomas Essex Sr. passed away Wednesday November 24, 2010 at his residence. He was born March 27, 1925 in Marion AL. He was a veteran of the US Army and the Korean War. He was a member of the Shepherd of the City Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 148 and UAW. He was a machine operator with Tokheim Corp until his retirement in 1983. Surviving are two sons, Lee Charles Essex and Thomas (Florence) Essex Jr., both of Fort Wayne; three daughters Marilyn Williams, of Fort Wayne; Ruth Pinkney and Sandra (Toby) Essex-Hall both of Atlanta GA; 10 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and special friend, Patricia Blevins. He was preceded in death by his wife Marian Essex in June 1998. Funeral Services is 11:00am Saturday December 4, 2010 at Shepherd of the City Lutheran Church, 1301 South Anthony Blvd. Visitation is 6-8pm Friday at Klaehn, Fahl and Melton Wayne Street Chapel, 420 West Wayne Street.
