Thomas S. Porter

Thomas S. Porter, 86, passed away peacefully October 4, 2022 in Mayfield Hts. Born January 4, 1936 in Logansport, IN., he lived and worked across the country, eventually settling down in Chagrin Falls in 1989. Tom was a U.S. Army Veteran and served from 1955 - 1957. He graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1961 and from the University of Kentucky in 1967 with an MBA. Tom was dedicated to his profession as an Engineer, and was currently employed in Engineering and Development with Industrial Commercial Properties. He loved everything Golf, but in the past also nature photography and bird watching. Tom is survived by his sister, Suzanne Fiedler; sister-in-law, Ellen Byrne; and in addition to his nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; parents, Oliver and Geraldine Porter; and brothers, O.H. and Wynne Kent Porter. A Funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home 6424 Winchester Road Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819 with visitation one hour prior. Burial to follow the service at Lindenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Tom’s name may be made to a charity of your choice.
