Vernon Ulester "Puny" Williams, 62, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. Born on March 11, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the middle son of the late Arthur and Lola (Patterson) Cleveland.
Vernon retired early from Nishakawa. He extended his generosity to many in need as a handyman and humanitarian. Baptized in his former years with strong family ties in ministry, a young Reverend Williams provided encouragement from the pulpit at Tree of Life Missionary Baptist Church. Puny, a huge Steelers fan, thoroughly enjoyed watching sports, going camping and fishing, watching movies, cooking, and reading.
Vernon is survived by their 3 talented, adult children: Two daughters, Sharee Shaunte', and Natasha (Amon) Truitt; only son, Vernon T. Williams; his sister, Delores Mudd; 7 grandchildren: Keith Zellers, Tre'vion Hilliard, Emery Moss, Zyheir Williams, Yakim Williams, Xuria Williams, Yasir Truitt; and a hosts of dear friends and family whom he cherished and loved greatly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his parents Lola and Arthur Cleveland; brothers, David A. Cleveland, and Robert E. (Vicki) Williams; and brother-in-law Vernon Mudd.
