Nécrologie de Victoria Lynn Raber
Victoria Lynn Raber was born on September 29th, 1948 in Fort Wayne, IN to Wayne and Betty Shaffer. She passed away peacefully on November 12th, 2020. She is survived by husband Dannie Raber, daughter Holli Quinn with grandchildren Morgan and Mason Warford, great grandchild Rylan. Daughter Jaimi Smith and husband Robert Smith, with grandchildren Ethan and Eli Smith. Victoria and Dannie went to same high school. They had a history class together but they didn’t really talk other than an occasional hi. A couple of years later they became neighbors and of course Dan couldn’t resist Vicki’s beautiful smile so he decided he needed to get to know her. He was home on leave from basic training so they only went on one date before he was off to Vietnam. They shared many letters back and forth over his deployment. When he came home on leave they got married only for him to be deployed a month later to Germany. A few years later they settled down in Fort Wayne and started their life together. From the moment they met their love for each other was unbreakable. Family meant the world to Vicki so when her children came along she was on top of the world. She loved being a mom more than anything, so much so that she welcomed any child into the house as her own. She just loved having fun and playing games. From Boggle, to puzzles she was always right there ready to play. Vicki was a kid at heart Victoria loved cooking for family and friends and always enjoyed company. She loved going to the lake and hanging out with her family and lake friends. It was a great get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Vicki and Dan’s dog Maddi loved the lake as much as the kids and would jump in the water as soon as they got there and was always a wet muddy mess. Her grandchildren really made her eyes light up. She loved spending time with them and laughing and playing games. Victoria was a women of strength and love tucked in a teeny tiny 4’ 10” frame. She always had an optimistic outlook and always gave the benefit of the doubt. Her energy was contagious and her laugh spontaneous. Above all, her faith in God was strong and unbreakable.
