Walter Eugene Ward Jr., 74, of Ossian, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Ossian Heath and Rehabilitation Center. He was born December 28, 1946 in Huntington, son to Walter Eugene and Marybelle (Fishbaugh) Ward Sr. Walter was a Huntington High School graduate, a U. S. Navy Veteran, and also a member of Arcola United Methodist Church. He retired in 2002 from Superior Essex after 22 years. Surviving are is wife of 54 years, Lolly Ward of Ossian; mother, Marybelle Ward of Roanoke, children, Tom (Ashley Ayers) Ward of Bluffton, Tracy (Erica) Ward of Markle, and Lindsey (Tony) Mason of Zanesville; sister, Penny (Paul) Stein of Glasgow, KY; brother, Terry (Debbie) Ward of Churubusco; 11 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Ward; granddaughter, Rayonah Ward; daughter in law, Shawn Ward; and nephew, Wesley Keller. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46809, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held Monday, November 29, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Nine Mile Maple Lawn Cemetery. Contributions in Walter's memory may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
