William Stein

WILLIAM STEIN, 89, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, William owned his own business, William Stein Construction for 25 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. Joseph United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Shriners, and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a family man who loved spending his spare time woodworking and playing golf. He was also an avid Detroit Tiger's fan and enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Beverly Stein of Fort Wayne; son, William H. (Vicki) Stein of Houston, Texas; daughter, Lori A. (Mark) Roy of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, William Benjamin (Amanda) Stein of Huntsville, Ala., Mary K. Roy of Fort Wayne, Hannah F. Roy of Washington D.C., Kristen (Joseph) Edmond of College Station, Texas, and Ens. Jonathan (Rachel) Levins of Corpus Christi, Texas; and great-granddaughter, Olivia Levins. He was preceded in death by his parents, William F. and Erna Stein; and grandchild, Ilene M. Stein. Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at St. Joseph United Methodist Church, 6004 Reed Road, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Russ Abel officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph United Methodist Church.
