He is the son of the late, Jose Sr. and Maria Antonia Magana. He is preceded in death by his father, Jose Magana Sr.; two sisters, Blanca E. and Esmeralda Magana. Abel is survived by his wife Eulalia Magana; two sons, Jason and Abel Magana Jr.; daughter, Sara Magana. Mother, Maria Antonia Magana; two brothers, Joe (Alice) Magana Jr., Arturo (Sonia) Magana; sister, Yolanda Magana. All of Fort Worth, TX. He has six grandchildren, one aunt, and several nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Abel was raised in Mathis, TX until the age of sixteen. Afterwards, he moved with his parents and siblings to Fort Worth, TX. He graduated from RL Pascal High School. He retired from Fort Worth ISD after 20 years in safety and security. He enjoyed the great outdoors, specially fishing with his brothers and friends. He loved to sit outside his home and just taking in the fresh air observing the birds and nature. Abel was one of the first to assist Mama's Pizza owners open their new restaurant and even excelled in their early start. He was very detailed, kind, and thoughtful to everyone he loved. He never met a stranger, and would take his shirt off his back to help those important to him and in need.
He will be dearly missed by all the family and friends whose lives he touched. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and hard work.
