A Celebration of Life for Barbara will be held Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Mount Horum Missionary Baptist Church, 3509 Mount Horum Way, Fort Worth, Texas 76105.
Barbara Faye "Pollard" Miller was born on March 16, 1948, in Fort Worth, Texas, the third beloved child of the late Clarence Arthur Sr. and Ruth Green Pollard. From the beginning, her life was shaped by faith, family, and a quiet strength that touched everyone she met. She graduated from Fort Worth's I.M. Terrell High School in 1966 and went on to study at Wiley College, known for its rich African American heritage, and later at Richland College-reflecting her deep belief in education and perseverance.
Barbara built a 35-year career at Texas Instruments, where she was known for her strong work ethic, integrity, and kindness. After retirement, she continued to serve through the American Tract Society and has worked with pride as Elevator Operator Number 6 at Dickies Arena since 2019. In 1990, Barbara married Alphonso Miller, her partner in love, faith, and service, until his passing in 2019. They worshipped together at North Garland Baptist Fellowship Church, where she taught Sunday School and co-led the Pastor Family Aide Committee. After returning to Fort Worth in 2008, they became devoted members of Mount Horum Missionary Baptist Church.
At Mount Horum, Barbara's heart for ministry continues to shine. She served as Youth Sunday School Superintendent, Church Secretary for 13 years, President of the Senior Mission, Usher Board and is an active member of GEMS ministry. Whether teaching in the Senior Women's Sunday School Class or greeting members with her warm smile, Barbara embodies grace, wisdom, and love.
We joyfully celebrate her living legacy with her children-Paisley, Eric (Yen), and Robert (Rewa)-and grandchildren: Zoe, Benjamin, and Celene. She is also lovingly honored by her four sisters and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Barbara Faye "Pollard" Miller lives a life of quiet dignity, steadfast faith, and joyful service. Her journey continues to inspire a life devoted to God, family, and community. Today and always, we celebrate her-our sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, friend, and faithful servant of the Lord.
