

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Barbara Daphne Samsill, of Crowley, TX, who left this Earth on February 2, 2026, at the age of 82. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend and her presence will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Born in Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire England on April 5, 1943, to John and Jessie Reay and was the youngest of four girls. Barbara came to America in October of 1963 after marrying the love of her life, Jay Roy Samsill. Her pride and love of this Country was remarkable. She obtained her American Citizenship in 1993 and was so proud of that accomplishment. In the summer of 1970, she decided to attend Cosmetology School and become a Hairstylist, owning her own Salon for many years. She continued doing hair until June of 2025, giving over 55 years to this profession and outliving almost all of her clients who became lifelong friends. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and had a “green thumb”. She also enjoyed cooking and was a very talented cook. Her family and friends enjoyed meals at her home and she often made Banana Pudding and Cookies for the Crowley Fire and Police Departments.
Barbara Daphne Samsill was survived by her three children, Nikki Jeffers and her husband Sam, of Fort Worth, TX, Michael Samsill and his wife Kim and Jerry Samsill, of Crowley, TX. Sister’s Margaret Haws, of Hot Springs, AR and Jessie Burchell, of England. Grandchildren, Bronwyn Gray, Brandon Jackson, Cameron, Katelyn and Grayci Samsill, Ramey Thomas and Maegan Schoech and Helisha Hawpe. 13 great grandchildren, and many more family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Jay Roy Samsill, her Sister Sheila Stringer, and her parents John and Jessie Reay.
The Family invites you to a celebration of life at 10:00 am on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Burleson Church of Christ . Her final resting place will be at Laurel Land 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, TX. The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love, prayers and support during this difficult time. Barbara Daphne Samsill’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
