Beth "Mickey" Turner, 85, went to heaven peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, February 22, 2017. Beth Annette Bishop was born to B.H. Bishop and Lottie Brown Bishop in Dallas, Texas on Dec. 07, 1931. She was raised in Dallas and graduated from North Dallas High School in 1949. She then graduated from Hockaday Jr. College in Dallas before entering Tobe-Coburn School for Fashion Careers in New York City. She graduated from there in 1952. She met her future husband and her lifetime love, Glenn, in Jr. High School. But since she was already going with one of Glenn's best friends, Glenn didn't encourage romance until his friend moved away in their Jr. year at North Dallas. By the time the friend moved back in their Sr. year, it was "too late for tears" for the friend and Glenn and Beth were married in 1952. It was during their courtship that Beth encouraged Glenn to seek the Lord which he did at 18 years of age. Glenn shipped out to Korea after 30 days of wedded bliss and he and Beth were not reunited for one year. After they finished his tour of duty in San Angelo in 1956, with the help of the G.I. Bill, Beth worked to put Glenn through college and Physical Therapy School. They then lived in various places, Gonzales, TX., Hot Springs, Ark., Warm Springs, Ga., Lufkin, TX, Galveston, TX. to gain experience before settling in Ft. Worth in 1964. Beth loved to sew and was an accomplished seamstress, making her own, as well as their twin daughters' clothes when they were at home. After their kids were grown Beth worked as Secretary to the Dean of the Business School at Tx. Wesleyan College where she retired in 1995. Upon the death of her mother, who Beth had taken care of in their home for 10 years, they sold their Forest Hill home and retired to St. Francis Village in 2007 in Crowley where she continued her love of gardening until her stroke in 2010. As infirmity crept in, Beth and Glenn moved to Heritage Place Asst. Living in Burleson in 2015 and resided comfortably there until Beth's death. "Loved you once, love you still. Always have, always will." Our sincere thanks for the loving care Glenn and Beth both received from the staff of Heritage Place Asst. Living and their Memory Care Unit. They are dears. She was preceded in death by their son, Glenn A. Turner III, her brother, Ben, as well as her parents, Bill and Lottie Bishop. Survivors: besides her loving husband, Glenn, their son, Chris, daughters Leigh (Bryan) and Lisa (Terry), Beth is survived by sisters Barbara of Anaheim, Ca. and Brenda (George) of Escondido, Ca., brother Bill (Donna) of State College, Pa, sister-in-law Michelle of Crowley; and many cousins and nieces and nephews.
