AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Betty Ann Kessler

17 février 1931 – 28 novembre 2022
Avis de décès de Betty Ann Kessler
AUX SOINS DE

Laurel Land Funeral Home & Memorial Park

Betty Ann Kessler, born Betty Ann Dahse, died peacefully on November 28, 2022 with her family by her side. She was 91 years old.

Betty was born in Nordheim, TX on February 17, 1931. She met her husband, Walter when she was 18 years old, serendipitously, at a post office in Alpine, TX. They later married and began their life journey to Sanderson, Del Rio, then San Antonio, Texas. Walter’s job with Southern Pacific Railroad led them along this path and Betty worked various jobs where she found her passion for a career in civil service at Laughlin and Randolph Air Force Bases, eventually retiring after many years. They were active in their Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed square dancing and camping. Later in life, she moved to Fort Worth, where she has resided for the past 16 years.

When asked what she valued, she said, “faith, family and friends,” and that it is important to “cherish and respect others”. She had a cheerful spirit and irresistible smile. Betty radiated love to all. She loved to play games with friends and family, especially with her neighbors at The Villas. (And often won!) She treasured her family always. Her resilience and perseverance were evident as she happily remained in her beloved home, surrounded closely by those who loved her.

Betty also loved to travel. Through Friendship Force, she traveled to Thailand, New Zealand and Australia, Isle of Wight, Canada, Japan, Germany and Austria and all over the United States.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lee Kessler; parents, Herman and Emma Dahse; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Elorene and Vic Heil and Janelle and Wilfred Bachle; and niece and nephew, Annis Purvis and Robert Bachle.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren: Terry Kessler and Francine Halberg of Tiburon, CA, Travis Kessler and Shelley Friend of Austin, TX, and Kim and Tony Barber of Fort Worth, TX. Sarah, Hill, Thomas and Charlie Ojeda; Caroline, Luis, Millie and Bexar Salcedo; Carlie, Parker, and Beau Hutchins, all of San Antonio and Avery Barber of Fort Worth. She will be deeply missed by all of her friends and family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
