

Betty lived a long and meaningful life devoted to family, community, and her calling as an elementary school teacher. She dedicated her career to shaping young minds with patience, kindness, and deep love for learning. Her impact extended far beyond the classroom, leaving a lasting impression on generations of students.
She loved creating cherished memories with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty also had a creative spirit and enjoyed art and sewing, as well as working outdoors, where she found peace and fulfillment.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, John Newport; son, Kent Newport; and great-great grandson Kenton Gabriel.
She is survived by daughter, Kathy Speers and husband Donnie of Hurst, TX; and grandchildren: Holly Rohling and husband Ryan of Larned, KS; Jase Smith and wife Rachel of North Richland Hills, TX; Chans Smith of North Richland Hills, TX; Erica Brown and husband Rusty of Larned, KS; and Andi Zortman and husband Galen of Larned, KS.
She also leaves behind great-grandchildren: Felicity Mitchel, Mattieu Cedillo, Brendan Smith, Laykin Smith, Mario Rohling, Lylee Brown, Aiden Giles, Shay Brown, Kalvin Brown, Seth Rohling, Grigston Zortman, Lenora Zortman, and Phoebe Brown; as well as three great-great grandchildren.
Betty will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering love for her family and friends, and the many lives she touched throughout her years.
