Billie Ruth Roach

Celebration of life: 11 a.m. Saturday at Gregory W. Spencer Funeral Directors. Interment: Center Hill Cemetery in Marshall.

Mrs. Roach was born June 12, 1927, in Marshall. She attended Marshall public schools. She was raised by Maggie Mae Sanders; there was one sister, Arleta Williams, both of whom preceded her in death.

Billie married Harvey Roach. They had one daughter, Willie Ruth. She also preceded her in death. Later in life she met and married Gotha Johnson and they stayed together for 40 years. She spent the last 50 or 60 years of her life living and working in Fort Worth. She spent 40 to 45 years working for some special people, the Jackson family and the Ballard family of Dallas, and also a host of special friends in the community. She was a mother to everyone.

Survivors: Loving nieces, Glenda Bush, Ora Williams, Marcella Williams; nephew, Collis Williams; a special daughter who she raised and loved dearly, Sally Jackson; special nephew, Theodric "Oggie," the baby boy she never had; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
