Mr. Billy "Brother" James Francis

Billy J. Francis, a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, and friend, was born on July 8, 1957, in Hawkins, Texas, to his loving parents, Winnie and James Francis. From the very beginning, Billy’s life was shaped by love, faith, and strong values—lessons he carried with him and shared generously throughout his life.

Billy made his home in Fort Worth, Texas, where he poured his heart into both his family and his work as a skilled mechanic and air conditioner technician. Known for his unwavering work ethic, dependability, and generous spirit, Billy had a way of making everyone feel supported and cared for. He was always ready to lend a hand, offer advice, or share a laugh, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.

On January 5, 2026, Billy peacefully passed from this life, leaving behind a legacy filled with love, laughter, and devotion. He was preceded in death by his father, James Francis, and his brother, Larry Francis.

Billy’s greatest joy came from his family. He is survived by his loving daughter, La-Yawn Francis, and his son, James Francis ; his mother, Winnie Francis; his sisters, Pat Brown-Thompson (L.C. Thompson) and Felicia Thompson Parks; his aunt, Ruby Frazier; his niece, Tonya Brown; his stepchildren, Arthaviea Brown and Earnest Williams; and his cherished friend, Sharie Williams.

He was a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren and a loving great-grandfather to 5 great-grandchildren. Billy’s life was a testament to the importance of family, friendship, and community. He taught through example, inspired through action, and loved without limits.

Billy will be remembered not only for his hard work and reliability but for his kindness, his laughter, and the warmth he brought to every room. His life was a celebration of love, and his memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
