Billy was born to J.A. and Nettie Florence Roe in Wichita Falls on September 19 1931. He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. Bill graduated in 1961 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He pastored several churches in north and north central Texas. He worked
for the Baptist General Convention for eleven years and Johnson County Baptist Association for fifteen years. After retirement, he continued to serve as the associational director of missions for Bosque and Hill counties.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Nina. Children: Dwight and Denise Roe of Arlington, Larry (Joe) and Melissa Roe Powell of Burleson. Grandchildren- Blake & Mindy Lauderback, Stephen & Brenda Roe, Miranda & Cole Tucker and JR & Hannah Lyon. Great-grandchildren: Nora, Julia and Harrison Lauderback and Timber and Collette Tucker. Brothers Charles Roe (his wife, Jerry) of Arkansas and Wayne Roe (his wife, Leda) of Bellevue and many nieces and nephews.
