Billy James Simmons was born on January 4, 1960, to the parentage of Dorothy Mae Simmons and Tommie Lee Simmons. He graduated from Leonard High School in 1977.
Billy was blessed with three grandsons. He was known for his humorous personality, he loved joking around, making people laugh.
He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Mae Ransom; daughter, Tisa Lynette Tweve; sister, Sylvia Ann Simmons and brother, Gary Lee Ransom.
He leaves to cherish his memories; his son, James Lamont Daniel; father, Tommie Lee Simmons, Sr.; 4 sisters, Betty Jean Simmons, Dorthy Prentice (Don), Melissa Simmons and Joyce Marie Simmons; 4 brothers, Tommy Lee Simmons, Jr. (Kay), Eugene Simmons, Ray Lee Ransom, Jr. and Walter Ransom; and a host of nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends
