Carl D. Dawson

A Visitation for Carl will be held Friday, May 2, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel, 7301 East Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth, Texas 76112, with a Funeral Service on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Michael Burton of Bowie Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial to follow at Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery with Military Honors.

Carl was born in Haw River, NC to Matthew and Mozelle Dawson on September 9, 1937. He went to school in Haw River, NC. He married Peggy Snofsky on December 1, 1956 in Fort Worth, TX. He graduated from Tarrant County College with an Associate’s Degree. He was a veteran during the Vietnam War and served in the Air Force and was awarded TSGT E6 rank. He worked as a Chief Warehouse Manager for General Dynamics for 14 years after retiring from the Air Force. He was a member in the Masonic Lodge of South Dakota.

Carl is preceded in death by his son Larry Dawson, father Matthew Dawson, mother Mozelle Dawson, and brother Bruce Dawson.

Carl is survived by his wife, Peggy, daughters Patty Hummer and Debbie Calhoun (husband Johnny). Sister-in-Law Pam Dawson. Grandchildren Mallory Hummer (fiancé Brian Snodgrass), Tori Hummer (husband Huntley Lewis), Mary Tryon (husband William), Lindsey Burton (husband Michael), and Kathryn Calhoun. Great grandchildren Kyler Tryon, Jayden Tryon, Makayla Burton, Landon Burton, Leighton Burton, and Maddox Burton. Several nieces and nephews.
