

Carl "Chip" Farrar Jr. BRIAROAKS - Chip Farrar passed away peacefully at his home December 28, 2017. FUNERAL - 3 p.m. Wednesday, January 3 at Laurel Land in Crowley. Chip was born on September 15, 1945 in Sewickley, Pennsylvania to Carl G. and Geraldine Farrar. He graduated from Ambridge High School in 1963. Following graduation, Chip joined the US Air Force and served as an airman at Bent Waters AFB in London and at Edwards AFB in California. He married the love of his life, Jenny, on New Years Day, 1964. They had two daughters, Vicki and Sally. After leaving the air force in 1967, Chip moved to Fort Worth and worked at General Dynamics as a jet engine mechanic before a long career at Color Tile. Following Color Tile, Chip also worked at Sears, Home Depot and Hawk Electronics. Chip was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His passions were his family and his home. Chip spent his weekends working in his yard, on the cars, and fixing things around the house. In the late seventies and early eighties, Chip was a partner in Olympic Skate World in Burleson where he also spun records as the DJ on the weekends. He was a huge fan of classic rock. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Gloria Milliman and Iris Wood. SURVIVIORS: He is survived by his wife, Jenny, his children, Vicki Dyer and husband Bryan, of Fort Worth, Sally Stepan and husband John, of Burleson, grandchildren Felisha Saxton and husband Cody, of Burleson, Janice Ivey and husband Andrew, of Fort Worth, Brittany Stepan and fiancé Jerry Simmons, and great grandchildren, Dayton and Chandler Saxton, and Elijah, McKinnley and Corbin Simmons, brother Jerry and wife Mary Jane Farrar, both of Ambridge, Pennsylvania.
