

Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at Wedgwood Baptist Church, 5522 Whitman Ave., Fort Worth, with Pastor Dr. Al Meredith officiating. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that those wanting to make donations do so to the Missions Fund of Wedgwood Baptist Church.
Carmen was born in 1943 in Guatemala. She taught in missionary school prior to going to study at California Baptist University where she received a BA degree. Upon her graduation, she married Daniel R. Sanchez and they were appointed as missionaries to the Republic of Panama. Their missionary service continued at the Baptist Home Mission Board, at the Baptist Convention of New York and at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She taught with distinction in the Fort Worth Independent School District for 25 years and received a master's degree in education from Texas Wesleyan University. She conducted teachers' workshops in numerous states and countries and participated with her husband in missionary activities in four continents.
Survivors: Husband, Dr. Daniel R. Sanchez; daughter, Vivian Rowland; sons, Daniel Eric Sanchez and his wife, Elizabeth, and David Earl Sanchez and his wife, Amanda; grandchildren, Dianna Sanchez, Summer Sanchez, Alexa Rowland, Trevor Roland and Naomi Sanchez; brothers, Francisco Batres and Enrique Batres; and sister, Amalia Isabel García.
