On August 19, 2020, Caroline Bickley left this earth to join her loved ones in heaven. Caroline was born on March 30, 1928 in Sioux City, Iowa to Clarence “Jack” and Geneva Malone. Just two years later, her mother passed on and Caroline was raised by her great aunt and uncle, Emma and Frank Grace of Vermillion, South Dakota. Caroline loved the farm she grew up on and the animals and people that were part of it. She participated in art classes and sports while in school and continued her love of drawing and painting all through her life.
While attending college, and a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority at the University of South Dakota, she met Quentin “Bud” Krieger and before long, they were wed. Their union brought about Barry, Lon and Dee Ann – sons and a daughter for a happy family. Later, Dee Ann blessed them with two grandsons, Steven and Garrett. She revelled in being a wife and mother, raising her three kids and making a loving home. After 25 years, Caroline found herself on her own, but still being the loving mother, then she met and married Gene Bales.
They danced, traveled and enjoyed the Ft. Worth social life until Gene passed in 1990. Caroline busied herself with tending to her children and grandchildren, actively managing her investments and feeding the birds and other wildlife in the back yard.
In 1994, Caroline married Ralph Bickley. They moved to Arlington, TX enjoying their senior years until Ralph's passing in 2012. Caroline continued on, keeping a sharp eye on her investments – and grandchildren – and keeping the birds fed. She loved her antiques, crystal and coins, her art, home and all her family.
Caroline is survived by all three of her children and two grandsons. She was a beautiful woman full of love and kindness and a heart the size of Texas. She will be missed by all who knew her. Go with God, Caroline.
In lieu of flowers, Caroline would want you to make a donation to the Scottish Rite Hospital For Children, Dallas, TX.
