

Carolyn Sue Tiroff was born March 21,1944 to Johnie O. Burns and Opal Rush Burns of Palmer Texas. Sue attended and graduated from school in Palmer. After graduating, she worked for several years at Alvarado State Bank and Southwest Bank in Fort Worth. Sue then went to work for the Social Security Administration in Fort Worth, where she retired from. Early in her working career she met Alvin Joseph Tiroff, and they were married in September 1985. After their marriage they set up their home on Linwood Lane in Edgecliff Village. During their marriage, they travelled together and took part in competition shooting, in which they received numerous awards. Sue also enjoyed painting, going with friends to casinos and on cruises, but her true enjoyment was taking care of her cats.
Sue is survived by her stepdaughters, Jill Flores, husband John, and children Jake and Josh; Stacy Strassman, husband Klaus, and children Amanda and Amber. She is also survived by her brother, Kenneth Burns, and his wife, Bettye as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Sue is also survived by her dear friends Colleen Fitzpatrick and Debbie “Mad Dog” Parish. Sue was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Joseph Tiroff, her parents Johnie and Opal Burns, and her brothers Virgil (and his wife Betty) and Ray Burns.
Carolyn “Sue” Tiroff passed the evening of July 10, 2025, in Waxahachie Texas
with family by her side. She will truly be missed.
