Charles was born on May 23,1933 in Caledonia, Mississippi, to Charlie Lester and Muriel (Boyd) Lollar. He was raised in Dallas, TX. He was a proud veteran. He served in the United States Army, and was stationed in Panama during the Korean War. He worked at Sanger Brothers/Sanger Harris/Foley's for 37 years before retiring as a Buyer for Electronics in the Corporation. He was a devout Christian. He was strong in his faith, the Word and witness. Over the years, he enjoyed coin collecting, the drums, jazz, dancing, the Dallas Cowboys; but most of all he loved and enjoyed his family.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Muriel Lollar, his beloved first wife of 32 years, Margaret (Espinoza) Lollar (d.1986); his three brothers, Reginald, Eugene and Troy Lollar; four sisters, Gladys White, Ann Flowers, Carmen Matthews, and Ray Cothran; and his stepson, George Sommerer.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Diana (Jones) Lollar; his two daughters, Diane (Charles) Dolim, and Susan (John) Raley; one son, Bruce (Janet) Lollar; and one stepdaughter, Lindy (David) Cockburn; one sister, Sarah Scott; seven granddaughters, Taylor Dolim, Angela (Justin) Himmelreich, Jennifer (OJ) DeSouza, Amanda Raley, Ashley Raley, Christie (Peter) Lewis, Marley (Jim) DeRuvo, two step-granddaughters, Macy (Marc) McCoy, Ren (Eduardo) McCoy, one step grandson, Britton Sommerer; seven great-grandchildren, Oscar and Sophia DeSouza; Bentley, Austin, Carley, and Daisy Lollar and Leela Mackey, nieces and nephews; loving members of the Espinoza family; and his favorite dog Chance.
A visitation for Charles will be held Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home - Ft Worth, 7100 Crowley Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76134. Service to follow from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Following the service, Charles will be laid to rest at 3:00 PM in Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, TX 75220-3338; Northeast Circle; Section: Block 2, Lot: 32, Grave: 1.
