Charles Joseph Yon

Family will receive friends at a gathering on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at their home in North Richland Hills, beginning at 1pm. A Remembrance Service with presentation of Military Honors will follow at 2pm on Monday, November 18, 2019 at Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel.

Charles, known as Chuck to many family and friends, was born on June 1, 1943 in Grand Ridge, Florida to parents, Agnes and James Yon, and was one of five children. As a young man, he proudly decided to serve his country and joined the Navy. He served for four years, and spent time serving on an aircraft carrier. He met his beloved Mary Ellen and married on November 16, of 1963, and they celebrated 55 years of marriage.

Chuck enjoyed building and crafting wood furniture. He loved riding Harley Motorcycles. He continued his work from skills he learned from the Navy and worked as an Aircraft Painter and Technician for many years, and was a dedicated employee of several aviation companies in the same field. He was very knowledgeable and skilled at his craft and was promoted into management.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Yon; parents; and siblings, Scarlett Tucker, Bonnie Stevens, and Donald Yon.

Chuck is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Yon; son, Charles W. Yon; grandson, Tyler J. Yon, Brandon A. Yon; great-grand daughter, Brooklyn G. Yon; sister, Martha Griffin, numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
