Born in Eureka, Kansas, on December 11, 1956, Cindy was the daughter of the late James and Doris (Cooksey) Reaugh. The Reaughs lived in Wichita, Kansas, for a year before moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Cindy spent most of her young life, until her father was transferred to Denver, Colorado, in June of 1974.
Cindy attended Memorial High School, followed by Mason High School. A talented pianist, she was the accompanist for the Mason High Chorus and also played flute in the marching band.
After graduating from high school, Cindy attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, a place she often said was her favorite city, especially in the summertime. While there, Cindy roomed with her dear friend, Valerie Ray, and later worked at Mercury Marine.
On April 24, 1986, Cindy was blessed with her beautiful daughter, Jennifer. Several years later she moved to St. Louis, where she took a job at Universal Sewing Supply. It was there that Cindy met the love of her life, Jeff Bartlett, who cherished her and loved her unconditionally for more than 30 years.
Following her year in St. Louis, Cindy returned to Fort Worth, Texas, where she made her home. On May 28, 1994, she and Jeff married in Wagoner, Oklahoma. They started their life together in Aledo, Texas, another one of Cindy’s favorite places to live, and stayed there for ten years. In 2004, Cindy and Jeff settled in Granbury, Texas, where they cherished their days on the lake, soaking up the sunshine and the peace of the water, until 2015, when they moved to Benbrook to be closer to their beloved grandchildren.
Cindy was a Human Resources Payroll Analyst for EECU Credit Union in Fort Worth, Texas, from 2016 to 2023. Prior to her work at EECU, she served as a Human Resources Specialist at Mouser Electronics (2010–2016), an Executive Assistant at the Kimball Art Foundation (2002–2010), and a Human Resources Specialist at Harcourt College Publishers (2000–2002).
Cindy was a vibrant soul who embraced life fully and poured her heart into being a mother and grandmother. She was an active member of the Vestry and Altar Guild at Holy Apostles Church, as well as a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. A master seamstress, Cindy had a true passion for sewing and quilting. She was an avid reader, an excellent cook and hostess, and she especially loved doing projects with her grandchildren and cheering on the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Cindy also loved scuba diving and traveling to the mountains and the beach with her husband, Jeff.
Cindy was full of life and love and found joy in lifting others up. She cherished her friendships, many formed in childhood and lasting throughout her life, including those with her close friends Susan Wright Gorden, Becky Faulconer, Cherie Scott Ayala, and Sheila Cooper. She was known for making friends wherever she went. Cindy was the heart of her family, thoughtfully planning holiday gatherings and gift exchanges each year.
She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Gary Dean Steinmann (November 2025); her mother, Doris Jean Reaugh (March 2025); and her father, James Arthur Reaugh (October 2020). She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Casey) Brunson; her beloved grandchildren, Collier, Colby, and Jones Brunson; her sister, Robin Steinmann; her brother, Randall (Mindy) Reaugh; her nieces, Rebecca (Dustin) Duncan and Ashtyn Reaugh; her nephew, James Newton; and her great-nephew, Whitaker Duncan.
Her celebration of life will be held at Holy Apostles Church on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., 3900 Longvue Avenue, Fort Worth, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the ALS Foundation or Holy Apostles Church.
