

On the morning of Saturday, July 1st, 2023 our beloved mother and grandmother, Clara Mae Wilson, went to be with the Lord at the age of 90 years old. Clara was born on April 5th, 1933 in Sergeant, Nebraska. Clara was the daughter of Frank and Mary Ellen Schwartz and grew up on the family farm near Broken Bow, Nebraska with her older brother, Leo R. Schwartz. She graduated at age 17 as valedictorian from St. Agnes Catholic High School in Alliance, Nebraska. An accomplished piano and organ player, she received a Superior rating in all piano competitions she entered while in high school and was a distinguished winner of the National Piano Guild Award.
A devout Catholic, Clara played piano for Catholic Mass services while in high school and at Catholic weddings, funerals, Mass services and other occasions at the Catholic churches she attended throughout her life. Clara earned a dual bachelor’s degree from Kearney State College in Fine Arts and Education and a master’s degree in Adult Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Throughout her life, Clara was a dedicated teacher and educator. She had a long and distinguished career teaching high school and elementary school english and history. Her love for teaching continued later in life where she taught and operated the GED learning center in Fort Worth, Texas for 23 years. Clara was married to Robert E. Wilson, a civil engineer and graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is survived by her three children (James, Michael, and Joseph) and six grandchildren (Erica, Katy, Catherine, Brandon, Robert, and Marcus).
A Catholic Mass will be celebrated in memory of Clara on Friday, July 21st, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arlington, Texas.
