Steve and I are justing finding out of David’s passing.  He was a wonderful man with a wonderful family and a blessing to all.  I knew his daughter Cathleen, when we all were youth coaches together while still on Bowen Rd.   Our thoughts and prayers are with his family...we are so sorry to hear, but as others have said we rejoice in knowing he is with his Lord and Savior now.

Another shining light in the world has dimmed and for that I grieve and offer condolences to his family.  When I joined the SCS/NRCS engineering family in 1978, there were not many female professionals in the agency--never a long line for the women's restroom at meetings! 

One of my lasting memories of Dave is that he was accepting of me into the "club" from the moment I met him.  For the 25+ years I worked with him, he treated me with dignity, respect and yes, became a friend. He was smart, funny and had a moral compass that is often hard to find in others these days.

I am forever grateful I knew him.

Our friendship goes back to the Salt lake City days when Maryke was teaching our kids at the Christian School.  Midge had Dave and Maryke out for dinner so they could meet each other and the rest is history.

Dave had a great sense of humor, was a strong Christian and a great friend to our family.

We thank God that this life is not all there is and because of the resurrection we have hope that we will see Dave again.

We are sorry for you loss and temporary separation. Our prayer is that  you will have the 'peace which passes all understanding" until the time we are all reunited again.

David was an upper-classman of mine at Fowler High School.  He was always a gentleman, kind, and had a great sense of humor.  I've not seen David since the late 1960's but with his personality I would expect him to be the kind of person who has been referenced  in the "memories" that have been shared.  My sorrow to his family and you already know he will be welcomed in Heaven.

Since leaving Crossroads there are many members that I miss and loved to talk to. David was one of those that I truly loved visiting with. He was always happy and energetic and more than willing to share with anyone he ran into. What an awesome addition Heaven received for Christmas!

Arletta and Wesley Paddock spent six weeks with David on a Holy Land tour in 1972.  It was a great experience for all of us and David helped keep the program lively.  We ask God's blessing on his family as they go through this time. 

Roger and I are so sorry to hear of Dave’s passing, but rejoice with you that he is with Jesus. We will be praying for you and your family in the days and weeks ahead. 

I do have great memories of Dave coming over to eat and then my mom introducing him to my 3rd grade teacher. She was a good matchmaker as they later were married, which was a plus for me as she was a favorite teacher. 

Roger and our girls visited in Ft. Worth. A tornado and a horrible hail storm went through the area. I’ve never heard such wind and the sky was an weird green. It was an adventure to be sure.   You kept us all calm for our girls but prepared if something happened. 
Dave  will be missed. 

It is with great sadness Sharon and I learned of David's passing to his reward.  David and Maryke have been wonderful friends and faithful supporters of missionary endeavors around the world.  We remember with fondness when David and Maryke visited our family in Thailand.  But perhaps our favorite memory (and one that really demonstrated his love for our family)  is the time when our family was driving up I-35, David and Maryke drove an hour or more from their home just to have dinner with us and our children on the road as we were passing through.  David, you will be missed. Although we are saddened that David is no longer with us, we can rejoice because he has entered into the complete joy of his Master. We will meet again. Well done, good and faithful servant.  (Matthew 25:21)

Another precious memory I have of David (and Maryke) is this picture of them with our younger daughter Aimee.   Before we went overseas as missionaries, they were Aimee's Sunday School teachers!

Having worked closely with David as an elder at Beaverton Christian Church, I have always had deep admiration for his trust in the Lord and for his servant's heart!  David was someone the whole church could always depend on.  His integrity and his loving heart were a comfort and inspiration to us all!  He was not a "consumer"!   He was always a "giver"!  

David and Maryke together have been an example to us over the last five decades!  May the Lord's grace and peace comfort the family in this time of temporary separation.

In my heart I always saw David as a man in the same mold as Nathanael, whom Jesus described as.........a man "in whom there is no deceit".  (John 1:47)

I worked with Dave at the Federal Building in Salt Lake City in the early 1970’s for several years. We both worked for the USDA.  Dave and Maryke attended and recorded my wedding on September 7, 1973. I still have that cassette tape. Dave and I stayed in touch through email and Facebook through the years.  He was an amazing person and will be greatly missed.  My thoughts and prayers are with Maryke and family.

We will all miss Dave.  He was such a positive, encouraging and uplifting person & he had a wonderful sense of humor.  Carol & I send our deepest heartfelt wishes to the whole family

Grew up a block from each other and the same class of ’61 in Fowler. David was always so smart, funny and kind. So sorry to hear of his passing.

I was honored to serve as an elder with David at Crossroads Christian Church several years ago. I always admired his positive outlook on life and servant attitude. And I really appreciated how he reached out to me when he sensed I had need.
