

He grew up with his younger sister Tracy in various parts of the country, wherever his dad's service would take the family. That included Indiana, where the family originated, as well as stayed while dad had duties in the Korean war. Finally as a family, they came to live at Fort Wolters and then to Fort Worth in the sixties.
A 1973 graduate of Paschal High School, which then led him into the army himself, with a tour in Germany. In the army he was an expert rifleman, he earned the National Defense Service Medal, as well as the Good Conduct medal. When he completed his service he took on various jobs, including fireman, security officer and truck driving. He loved being a truck driver, which he did for 30 years. He worked both local routes and long haul. He knew the rules and regulations of the road, which others would contact him for advice even in his last days. He appreciated the beauty of his country and where the long haul routes would take him. Towards the end of his career he hauled seismograph equipment throughout parts of the country and through western Canada, with the help of his deaf dog Nathan.
After he retired from trucking, he worked with a local non emergency transport service assisting the elderly and then moving into dispatch. When he retired from dispatching he spent time at his place in Crowley, with his dogs and his wife Christine of 19 years. He always had a full house of dogs that he loved that he either rescued or they rescued him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Laverne and Marcie, as well as his sister Tracy.
Graveside service will be held at Laurel land, Fort Worth on Monday March 7, 2022, with memorial service following at 2 p.m. at University Baptist Church 2720 Wabash Avenue, Fort Worth. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Baylor Scott & White All Saints Foundation - Liver Disease Research, or the charity of your choice.
