Diantha Lanay Chisholm (née Phillips) was born in Hale Center, Texas. Growing up in Clifton, Texas, she was the captain of her high school cheerleading team and worked as a pharmacy assistant at her local pharmacy until she graduated in 1970. She then met her future husband of 51 years, Thomas, in Waco, Texas, in 1972 and married on December 15th of that year. The newlyweds moved to Mainz, Germany, in 1973 on military assignment, where they had their first child, Sean, in August of 1975. The two returned to the States in 1977 and had their second child, Candice, in August 1978. Diantha would eventually settle down with her husband in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1998 as empty nesters, and shortly after, Diantha became corporate credit manager for United Refrigeration in 1999. She would then witness the birth of her grandchildren, Thomas, in 2003 and Bailey, in 2004, and subsequently raise them. Her grandson, Jack, would be born in 2007, and her granddaughter, Nina, in 2010. A year later, she would lose her daughter, Candice Leigh, in March of 2011. She would eventually retire in 2019 and act as a consultant until her official retirement in 2022. Diantha and Tom would adopt their grandchildren, Thomas, and Bailey, in January 2023. Days before her passing, Diantha saw the Rangers win the World Series with her husband, Tom.
Diantha was a devout Christian who loved shopping, hallmark movies, and animals. She enjoyed the beach, family downtime, bible reading, and watching sports with her husband. Despite the numerous battles in her life, she remained a pillar of strength for those around her, always a shoulder to cry on and a person to talk to. Family and friends will remember her as a light to everyone she touched and a woman of incredible resilience, love, and unwavering devotion.
