

Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Laurel Land Chapel of Chimes. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
Don was born May 27, 1928, to Joseph Elgin Robbins and Elsie Agnus Keyser in Hutchinson, Kan., where he was raised by his mother and sister. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1946 and served in the U.S. Army 45th Infantry Division in the Korean War from 1950 to 1952. Following the war, he returned to Hutchinson where he married Dotty Darlene Simpson in 1954 and they had three children. Don had a long career as a field technician with National Cash Register (NCR) Corporation, which offered him and the family the opportunity to live in Denver, San Antonio, Little Rock and finally Fort Worth where he later retired in 1994.
Don enjoyed working with his hands disassembling, repairing and reassembling equipment both at work and home. He also enjoyed staying in touch with his Army buddies and attending the reunions. Don was a member of Edge Park United Methodist Church and was active in Methodist Men and Sunday school classes. He never met a stranger. He was kind-hearted, generous and slow to anger; akin to his Christian faith.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene, in 1988 and his sister, Marjorie Perkins.
Survivors: Son, Tim Robbins and wife, Debbie; son, Rick Robbins; daughter, Diane Robbins; sister-in-law, Valita Rollins and her family; family friend, Lynn Jones; and many other friends.
