

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Don Simpson who left us on March 11, 2025 at the age of 87. He was a beloved husband, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, and friend, and his presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Born on October 28, 1937 in Hamlin, Texas, Don Simpson was the child of parents W.J. Simpson and Estell Crain. Throughout his life, Don was known for his kindness, gentleness, generosity and knowledge, and was a God fearing man. Don went back to school in his 60s to finish high school and was very proud of himself.
Don loved God, church, his Bible, praying, listening to gospel, cooking, hunting, projects, and teaching others what he knew. Don devoted his time to God, family, and friends.
Don Simpson is survived with deep sorrow by wife Mary Ann Simpson, mother-in-law Monica Salazar, Sister-in-laws Natalia Salazar and Cynthia Slate, brother-in-law Vincent Jr. Salazar, nephews Matthew Slate, VJ Salazar, nieces Rose Koehler, Krista Driskell, Stephanie Salazar, six great nieces, one great nephew, and best friends David Slate, Lonzo Johnson, and Yaya M.
Don Simpson was preceded in death by parents W.J. Simpson and Estell Crain, and brothers Ben Simpson, James Simpson, and Burl Simpson.
The family invites relatives and friends to a celebration of Don Simpson's life, visitation Thursday March 27, 2025,Laurel Land Funeral Home at 7100 Crowley Road 10:00 am -12:00 pm, Funeral Service at 12 noon,and a Committal service will follow Thursday March 27, 2025 @ 2:00 pm at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, Texas 75211.
The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Don Simpson's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
