He was born and raised in Ft. Worth Texas and graduated from Polytechnic High School. He served his country on active duty in the Navy and as a reservist in the Navy/Air Force for 26 years. He also worked in the US Postal Service and retired as Postmaster in Bossier City, LA.
Don had a servant’s heart and was loved by many. He worked in every office of the Lions Club for over 30 years. Don was known as a humble servant of God, generously giving his talents to many civic organizations and his church family at Life Fellowship Church.
Don was very creative and expressive in gardening, growing beautiful flowers, plants and trees. He was past president of the Arlington Men’s Garden Club and won many awards for his horticultural talents.
One precious memory the grandchildren have of him is that he would play all their games with them—Matchbox cars, Legos and Nintendo and would even ride scooters with them.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Lilian Ardoyno; and Gayle and Karen’s mother, Lois Ardoyno.
Don is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dee Ann Ardoyno. He leaves behind daughters Karen Trimble (Van), Gayle Ardoyno (Belinda), and Lynne Heilbrun (Richard); and son, Steve Parsons (Pennye); eight grand-children, Paul, Whitney, Brad, Nick, Kyle, Chris, Cory, Erin; and three great-grandchildren: Caroline, Grant and Ryleigh.
