Donald was born in Chester, Illinois on March 21, 1933 to Ed and Alice Harris. He was a graduate of Lanier Catholic High School in 1952. He played college football for Texas Tech Red Raiders and graduated with a BA in 1957.
He married the love of his life Maria Audrey Mudd on August, 6, 1955. This past August would have been their 66th anniversary.
Don had a long career in food sales. He was with Kraft Foods for 15+ years and retired from Bryne Brothers Foods in 2012.
Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf and took pride in his yard work. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children and family.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, brother Carl Edward Harris, son John Michael Harris, and his lovely wife Maria.
Don is survived by his daughters Lisa Mackey, Julia Hunt and Angela Clark; sons, Tony Harris and Lee Harris; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
