Dorothy Mae Johnson

Dorothy received her education at I.M. Terrell High School with the Class of 1951. Dorothy worked many jobs but retired from Fort Worth Independent School District in 1990.

Dorothy accepted Christ at an early age and when her family relocated to Fort Worth she joined Morningside Missionary Baptist Church in 1962 under the leadership of the late Pastor R.L. Montgomery and also served under the late Pastor K.R. Walton. Dorothy was a faithful member and loved to sing in the church choir until her health failed.

On July 14, 1951 she and Oris L. Johnson united in Holy matrimony for 56 years until his passing on April 13, 2007. To their union four children were born. Dorothy traveled all over the world with Oris (USAF) including several years in Japan and acquired a Brown Belt in Judo. She also played league soft ball, basketball and bowling at home and abroad.

On Thursday, October the 12, 2023, Dorothy answered the Master's call and reunited with her husband, mother, and a host of other relatives preceded in death.

She is cherished in Memory by her children: Arfrances Johnson, Donna Johnson-Mack, and Oris Johnson Jr., and Delisa Brown-Alexander (Michael).

Grandchildren: Tamekia Johnson, DeAndre Johnson, Baron Brown Jr., Jeremy Brown, Keisha Tomlinson (K.T)(Kelvin), Kaela Brown (Shynae), Waverolyn Mack II, and Kirsten Alexander.

Great Grandchildren: Timothy Garner, TreVaughn Garner, Delisha Wallace (Tamajh), Kaliyah Brown, Diamond Williams, Takemia Williams, Bailey Brown, Nykolas Mack, Eric Jordan Jr., Braylon Brown, King Briggs, Kaileigh Johnson, Karlei Tomlinson, Kelvin Tomlinson Jr., Noellle Brown, E'onni Mack, and Lamayah Anderson.

Mere words cannot express the gratitude of our hearts for the many kind deeds and love shown to us during this period of grief and sorrow. A committal service for Dorothy will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 10:15 AM to 10:30 AM at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.
